Changing Python Version in Anaconda
This article describes various ways to change the Python version in Anaconda.
After changing the Python version in the Anaconda command prompt, you can use the following command to display the current version of Python.
python --version
In the Anaconda command prompt, use conda install
the command
Use command in Anaconda command prompt conda install
to change Python version. Follow the example below.
conda install python=<the_version>
Here is another example.
conda install python=3.5
Use the latest Anaconda installer
Update your Python version using the latest Anaconda installer. It is a graphical installer.
You will find newer versions of Python here .
You will find older versions of Python here .
In the Anaconda command prompt, use conda create
the command
If you want to install a new version of Python in a specific environment, you can use conda create
the command.
conda create -n <my_environment> python=<new_version>
Here is another approach you can follow.
conda create -n an_env python=3.5
After publishing, you need to activate the environment using the following command.
conda activate <my_environment>
You can also issue commands in the following ways.
conda activate an_env
In the Anaconda command prompt, use conda update
the command
If you want to change the version of Python to the latest version, you can conda update
