Python if...else in Lambda function

Author:JIYIK Last Updated:2025/05/07 Views:

lambdaFunctions are used to implement some simple logic in Python and can be thought of as anonymous functions. It can have multiple parameters but only one expression, just deflike any other function defined using the keyword.

We can define functions in a single line of code lambdaand it has proven to be very useful in Python.

In this tutorial, we will lambdause if-elsethe with statement within a Python function.

if-elseStatement is a conditional statement in Python that is used to execute both the True and False parts of a condition.

ifThe code in the block will be executed if the condition code is True, while elsethe code in the block will be executed if the condition is False.

We can if-elseincorporate the statement into a Python lambdafunction.

Look at the following example,

def test(a):
    return True if (a > 10 and a < 20) else False

print(test(13))
print(test(1))
print(test(34))

Output:

True
False
False
